Paraphrase combining the Times ('Asia is headed for nuclear annihilation in 1999, Mr. Chen predicts') and the April 1998 report that the Great Tribulation would 'culminate in a nuclear holocaust destroying the world in late 1999.' Even after the March 25 TV no-show, SFGate reported, Chen 'still believed God would descend to Earth to save hundreds of millions of people from a nuclear holocaust in 1999 by taking them to another planet in flying saucers.'
