Christ Returns on May 27, 2012
Preacher Fixes Christ's Return for May 27, 2012, Admits It 'Does Not Seem Reasonable'
Ronald Weinland of the Church of God - PKG named Pentecost 2012 as the day. Pentecost 2012 arrived without the Second Coming.
What was said
“A fast approaching fixed date of May 27th for Christ's return does not seem reasonable to people. It just does not seem right.”
— Ronald Weinland, founder of the Church of God - Preparing for the Kingdom of God · said Apr 29, 2012 · due Pentecost, May 27, 2012
May 27, 2012 was a Sunday. It ended like the others.
The fine print
Posted on his own site four weeks before the date, under the title 'May 27, 2012'. He wrote that the date had been given 'just over three and a half years ago'. Wikipedia's list notes an earlier date, September 29, 2011, which he moved to May 27, 2012 when it passed.
Later spin
Three days after the date, he wrote that 'May 27, 2012 was the "prophetic day" for the return of His Son', a prophetic day that 'will take one year to become fulfilled', ending at Pentecost 2013.
